Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern use of the Free Mold Training website, training materials, live online classes, in-person classes, exams, national certification options, continuing education services, certificates, and related communications provided through or in connection with free-mold-training.org. Free Mold Training is associated with the National Association of Environmentally Responsible Mold Contractors (NAERMC).

By using the website, downloading training materials, submitting a registration form, paying for a course or exam, attending a class, taking an exam, requesting a certificate, or requesting continuing education credit, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services Provided

Free Mold Training provides mold assessment and mold remediation training resources and related services. Depending on the page, program, and registration option, services may include:

Free self-study mold training materials.
Live online review classes and exams.
In-person training classes and exams.
Florida mold assessor and mold remediator exam preparation and approved exam administration.
National mold assessor and mold remediator certification options.
14-hour continuing education programs for mold assessor and/or mold remediator license renewal.
Certificates, completion records, exam retakes where offered, and related administrative support.

Specific services, dates, pricing, locations, formats, and requirements are described on the applicable course or registration page and may change from time to time.

2. No Guarantee of License, Certification, or Government Approval

Training, exam preparation, and exam completion do not guarantee that any state agency, licensing board, employer, customer, insurer, or third party will issue, renew, accept, or approve a license, certification, application, credit, or credential. You are responsible for confirming the requirements that apply to you, including any state licensing, experience, education, application, renewal, CE, or reciprocity requirements.

For Florida applicants, passing an approved exam is only one part of the licensing process. You are responsible for submitting any required DBPR application materials and proving that you meet applicable experience, education, insurance, and other licensing requirements.

National certification options are not a substitute for a state license where a state requires its own mold license, certification, registration, or approval.

3. Registration and Accurate Information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when you contact us, register for a class or exam, request a certificate, request CE credit, or submit any form. This may include your legal name or the name you want shown on a license or certificate, email address, phone number, address, license number when needed for CE, selected exam date, selected course, and payment details.

You are responsible for checking your confirmation emails, class reminders, exam instructions, and any messages from us. If your contact information changes, you must notify us promptly.

4. Technical Requirements and Student Responsibilities

Online classes and exams may require Zoom or similar meeting software, a desktop or laptop computer, a reliable internet connection, speakers, microphone, and a working webcam. Some exams may not work properly on a tablet or phone. In-person students may be required to bring their own computer for the exam.

You are responsible for having the equipment, internet access, identification, software, and preparation needed to participate. Technical failures, late arrival, failure to appear, failure to follow instructions, or failure to meet exam requirements may prevent completion and may be treated as a missed class or exam.

5. Payments, Pricing, and Receipts

Prices are listed on the applicable course or registration page and may vary by program, license type, certification option, location, date, or promotion. Payment is generally required before a class, exam, certificate, or CE service is reserved or delivered.

Payments may be processed through third-party providers such as Stripe. By submitting payment, you authorize the payment processor to charge the selected payment method for the amount shown at checkout or on the applicable registration form. Payment confirmations and receipts may be sent by Stripe or another payment provider.

6. Refunds, Reschedules, No-Shows, and Retakes

Unless a specific course page or written agreement states otherwise, the following policies apply:

Refund requests: Refund requests must be made in writing at least seven calendar days before the scheduled class, exam, or CE date. Refunds are not guaranteed after that period, after a class has begun, after an exam has been accessed, after training services have been delivered, or after a certificate or CE submission has been processed.
Reschedules: We may allow a student to reschedule to a future regularly scheduled date when requested in writing and subject to available dates, program requirements, and administrative approval. Reschedules are not unlimited and are not guaranteed for missed classes, no-shows, late arrivals, or incomplete exams.
Three-month written communication cutoff: Reschedule credits are not held indefinitely. If you miss, postpone, do not attend, do not complete, or otherwise need to reschedule a class, exam, retake, certificate process, or CE process, you must contact us in writing at training@mold-free.org or another written method we confirm. If more than three months pass after the original scheduled class or exam date, or after our last written communication with you about the reschedule, whichever is later, and we have not received written communication from you, the registration or reschedule credit will be considered abandoned. After that point, we are not required to provide another class date, exam date, retake, certificate, CE submission, credit, or refund.
Retakes: Where a course page states that one free retake is included, the retake must be taken on a regularly scheduled exam date, subject to availability and exam rules. A free retake does not create an indefinite credit and is subject to the three-month written communication cutoff unless we agree otherwise in writing.
No-shows and incomplete attendance: Failure to attend, late arrival, early departure, failure to maintain webcam or exam requirements, or failure to complete required steps may be treated as a missed class or exam and may affect eligibility for rescheduling, retakes, certificates, CE credit, or refunds.

7. Exam Rules and Academic Integrity

Exams may be open notes where stated, but you must follow all exam instructions. Unless expressly allowed in writing, you may not have another person take an exam for you, receive unauthorized assistance, copy exam questions, record the exam, share exam content, bypass webcam or identity requirements, disrupt the exam, or use the exam for any improper purpose.

We may invalidate an exam, deny a certificate or CE credit, remove a student from a class or exam, refuse future registration, or take other appropriate action if we believe exam rules, integrity standards, or these Terms have been violated.

8. Certificates, CE Credit, and Record Corrections

Certificates, completion records, and CE reporting depend on accurate registration information, attendance, exam completion, payment status, and program requirements. You are responsible for reviewing your certificate or record information and notifying us promptly if a correction is needed.

CE credit submissions may depend on third-party systems, state requirements, license numbers, deadlines, and administrative processing. We are not responsible for delays or denials caused by incorrect information supplied by a student, agency processing times, expired licenses, missing prerequisites, system outages, or requirements outside our control.

9. Intellectual Property and Use of Materials

Training materials, slides, videos, photos, handouts, exam content, website content, certificates, logos, and related materials are owned by Free Mold Training, NAERMC, their contributors, or their licensors unless otherwise stated. You may use the materials for your own personal education and exam preparation.

You may not copy, publish, sell, resell, distribute, upload, share, scrape, record, modify, create competing materials from, or commercially exploit our training materials, exam content, or website content without written permission.

10. Communications

You agree that we may contact you by email, phone, text message, mail, or other contact information you provide for registration, scheduling, rescheduling, class reminders, exam instructions, payment issues, certificate issues, CE issues, policy updates, and customer support. Written communication for reschedules, refund requests, certificate corrections, and similar administrative requests should be sent to training@mold-free.org unless we instruct you otherwise in writing.

11. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to misuse the website, forms, payment systems, classes, exams, training materials, certificates, or communications. Prohibited conduct includes:

Submitting false, misleading, or incomplete information.
Using another person’s identity or allowing another person to attend or test for you.
Attempting to access accounts, systems, forms, payment data, exam content, or records without authorization.
Interfering with classes, exams, instructors, students, website security, or payment processing.
Copying, distributing, reselling, or publicly posting training materials or exam content.
Using the services for unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or fraudulent purposes.

12. Third-Party Services and Links

The website and services may use or link to third-party providers, including payment processors, scheduling tools, email tools, Zoom or meeting platforms, DBPR or licensing resources, ProLab or related training partners, and other websites. We are not responsible for third-party services, websites, outages, policies, fees, processing times, or content.

13. Disclaimers

Training materials and services are provided for educational and informational purposes. They are not legal advice, engineering advice, medical advice, or a guarantee of any business, licensing, regulatory, health, legal, employment, insurance, or customer outcome.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website, materials, classes, exams, certificates, CE services, and related communications are provided as available and without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Free Mold Training, NAERMC, instructors, administrators, owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, including lost profits, lost business, lost license opportunities, failed applications, delays, lost data, or third-party decisions arising from use of the website or services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to a paid service will not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Free Mold Training, NAERMC, instructors, administrators, owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the website or services, violation of these Terms, violation of exam rules, infringement of intellectual property rights, submission of inaccurate information, or violation of law.

16. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Unless otherwise required by law, venue for disputes will be in the state or federal courts serving Broward County, Florida.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date will be updated when a new version is posted. Your continued use of the website or services after updated Terms are posted means the updated Terms apply going forward.
